March 17: Bitterzoet Amsterdam

It was only a short set, but it was a special one that needs some attention: Les Spinshots appeared live on stage at Bitterzoet. Natashka and Guuzbourg asked les Spinshots for a short sets, playing our French Song Dxc3xa9sirs Mutuxc3xa8ls (Watch the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcwaaUvMVAM) and some Serge Gainsbourg covers… It’s short, too short really. But it is going to be something special for sure. And without turbands this time! See a piece:

LES SPINSHOTS COVER SERGE GAINSBOURG

In September 2009, a compilation album hit the charts hard. 18 Dutch and Belgian bands and artists have covered songs written by Serge Gainsbourg, invited to do so by Dutch deejay Guuzbourg.

The CD ‘Gainsnord’ was lounged in Paradiso, Amsterdam, September 18. To hear what ‘les Spinshots’ did exclusively for this compilation, visit www.fillessourires.com/gainsnord – Better do it now! It’s a blast!

Other contributions by, amongst others, Juicebox, West Hell Five, Tom Barman (of dEUS), Eddy de Dlercq, Leine, and Janne Schra

‘Qui est ‘in’, ‘qui est ‘out’ is also available as split vinyl single with on the other side Juicebox’ version of ‘Chatterton’ – this IS indeed a collector with artwork by Hanco Kolk!

Spinshots record for Serge Gainsbourg tribute album

In september 2009, deejay and well-known French pop connoisseur Guuzbourg will present his choice of Dutch bands covering the French maestro. There will be a party in rocktemple Paradiso, with some of the singers performing live, backed up by the Amsterdam phenomenon West Hell 5, a sleazy 50′s/60′s combo that even dared to cover ‘Je t’aime’.

The Spinshots covered, especially for this occasion, Gainsbourgs ‘Qui est ‘in’, qui est ‘out’See the original video:If you’d like to hear what we did, be sure to keep yourself updated in september. Amongst the contributions are covers by West Hell 5, Juicebox and Leine. We’re also very happy to announce that much-appreciated comicstrip artist Hanco Kolk (Meccano, Gilles de Geus, s1ngles) will do the cover.

But for the people helping us (studio personnel, mixers etc) our own guitarist Martin Draax designed a cover for the cover hahacovercovercover

Dxc3xa9sirs Mutuels

Download SPINSHOTS-DM.mov

We made a clip for our song Dxc3xa9sirs Mutuels. Natasha Cloutier of Radio Oh Lala translated the lyric into French, while we could attract Inge Voskamp of Poolse Vis to do the coaching. We’re very proud of the result, have a look:
